Emily's diverse background is anchored in solving complex data challenges across all areas of healthcare. She has been a part of numerous early and growth-stage start-ups, including her own digital health company in the opioid recovery space. Prior to Shaper, Emily was the Executive Director of Data at Morgan Health, an organization within JP Morgan Chase focused on employer-sponsored healthcare, where she led the organization's data strategy, developed healthcare innovation initiatives in maternal health, and supported numerous venture capital investments. Her earlier experiences include data leadership roles at Cityblock Health, Wellframe, and IBM Watson Health.
Emily holds a PhD from the Harvard-MIT joint division of Health Sciences & Technology, and a BS in computer science and computational neuroscience from McGill University. Her doctoral dissertation focused on novel computational methods for the analysis of medical imaging data of the aging brain. She has been recognized as an MIT Graduate Woman of Excellence and was named one of Boston's 40 Under 40 for Healthcare Innovation.
Kartik Chopra is the founder and CEO of Adelphi, a company dedicated to revolutionizing secure data sharing within the intelligence and defense sectors. Kartik launched Adelphi with Travis May, aiming to address the growing fragmentation of intelligence data and systems. Adelphi’s mission is to ensure that the intelligence community can seamlessly and securely share data across applications while maintaining the highest levels of security, enhancing human intelligence (HUMINT) operations.
Kartik was recruited to the CIA after undergrad and played a key role in building globally distributed AI infrastructure, supporting major U.S. foreign intelligence operations, including contributions to President Trump’s unannounced visit to North Korea. He specialized in leveraging data and technology to identify critical intelligence targets and improve operational decision-making. After he left the CIA, Kartik founded Devron, where he pioneered the first federated AI platform adopted by top financial institutions, intelligence agencies, and the Department of Defense. His work enabled real-time operational insights and decision-making by securely analyzing globally distributed datasets.
Karik immigrated from India at age 10 and pursued a degree in Computer Science and Quantitative Economics.
Jeremy Baksht is the Co-Founder and CEO of Catena Clearing, where he is building Catena Telematics, a universal data API that connects ELDs, TMS, and fleet systems. Catena delivers real-time, permissioned truck data to brokers, shippers, and fintechs, streamlining carrier onboarding, fraud prevention, and risk scoring for smarter logistics decisions.
Jeremy has driven growth and innovation at B2B companies like data.world, Revelio Labs, Deckard Technologies, and Dusty Robotics. At Walmart Data Ventures, he led strategic initiatives, including acquiring Volt Systems. Previously, at Bloomberg Enterprise Alternative Data, he built and scaled data businesses, drove the acquisitions of his first two fintech ventures: Estimize and ACE Portal. Earlier in his career, he worked in investment banking at Citigroup and JPMorgan, advising global industrial clients on complex transactions.
Jeremy holds a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Texas and an MBA from UVA Darden. He lives in New York with his family including two boys & a goldendoodle and is passionate about boxing, yoga, chess, and reading science fiction.
Chris Taylor is the Co-Founder and CEO of Fractional AI, an AI services provider grounded in engineering excellence. Fractional AI builds custom generative AI software to transform businesses.
As CEO of Fractional AI, Chris has scoped hundreds of applied AI projects—from complex workflow automations to new product launches. Prior to building Fractional AI, Chris was the Chief Revenue Officer of Wove (acquired by Samba TV) and a founding sales leader at LiveRamp (NYSE: RAMP).
Chris holds a BS in Finance and Entrepreneurship from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Brian Overstreet is the Co-Founder, President & CEO of Arbital Health, the neutral third-party adjudicator of value-based care contracts that is unlocking and accelerating the $1 trillion shift to value-based care in the U.S. healthcare system.
Brian is an accomplished entrepreneur in the healthcare data and analytics industry. Over his twenty-year career, he has started and led two different healthcare data companies from idea to founding to prototype to product to revenue to scalable growth to profitability to M&A exit. Advera Health Analytics provided drug safety data, analytics, and workflow tools to the life sciences market and was acquired in 2022 by TriNetX. Sagient Research System provided drug pipeline tracking and predictive analysis tools and was acquired by Informa in 2012.
Brian’s broad experience ranges from recruiting and guiding executive teams, raising venture and corporate financing, building strategic partnerships, creating recurring revenue streams, and executing on product development and enterprise sales roadmaps.
Bobby Samuels is the Co-Founder and CEO of Protege, the platform for AI training data, enabling seamless and compliant data exchange to address one of the biggest bottlenecks in the AI industry: a lack of access to the right training data.
Before founding Protege, Bobby held multiple leadership roles at Datavant. As General Manager of Privacy Hub, he led efforts to expand Datavant’s privacy-preserving technology solutions, building on its position as the leading platform for healthcare data interoperability. Before Datavant, Bobby worked in partnerships and product at LiveRamp.
Bobby holds a BA in Economics from Harvard College and an MBA from Stanford University.
Abigail Bertelson is the founder & CEO of Zenith Health, building the evidence base to inform the thousands of questions that women currently struggle to answer with data during pregnancy – aiming to ensure “we don’t have the data” is no longer the bottleneck to informed health decisions.
Prior to founding Zenith Health, Abigail held multiple roles at Datavant – including leading the Rapid Retrieval offering, focused on patient-mediated medical record retrieval serving life sciences use cases in clinical trial eligibility and registry building, as well as serving as Chief of Staff to the CEO following the company’s $7B merger with Ciox Health. Abigail has also led teams and new initiatives at Zillow, where she helped to stand up a new business model and agent product offering within the Premier Agent business line.
Abigail graduated from Stanford University with a BA in Economics and a minor in International Relations and is based out of New York City.
Cody Sedler is currently an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Shaper Capital, building the foundation for a new venture.
His experience has focused on addressing data challenges, go-to-market strategy, and building high-performing teams. Previously, Cody led business development and played a key role in shaping the strategy for Highland Math, a platform built for data-sharing workflows. He worked closely with the CEO to help lead the company to acquisition by Datavant, a leader in healthcare data interoperability. At Datavant, Cody led data partnerships across multiple divisions, contributing to the creation of the largest health data ecosystem. He then oversaw commercial efforts for the privacy services division, helping organizations manage risk through statistically driven products and services.
Cody graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Business Administration.
Kyle Bryant is Vice President of Special Projects at Shaper Capital, leading strategic and operational initiatives across the portfolio.
Kyle’s diverse experience underscores his belief that transformation is driven by industry collaboration and meaningful partnerships between incumbents and startups. He joined Shaper from Redesign Health, having led teams to launch and scale new businesses with large healthcare organizations. Before Redesign, Kyle held various roles at the Cigna Group, where he made investments in early-stage startups through Cigna Ventures’ $450M fund, structured the operating model for the Evernorth Innovation Lab, and played a role in the $1B+ acquisition of the telemedicine company, MDLive. Previously, Kyle worked across healthcare at Duke Health, Blue Cross NC, CapView Strategies, and Rock Health.
Kyle holds a BS and MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is pursuing a Doctorate in Public Health at Johns Hopkins University.

Prior to Shaper, Kristen was Senior Director of Strategy & Operations at Verana Health, where she led corporate strategy, expanded data partnerships with the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Urological Association, and managed operations for Verana’s $150M Series E fundraise supported by GV, J&J Innovation, and Novo Growth. Before Verana, Kristen was VP of Partnering & Analytics at LifeSci Partners, where she facilitated business development & licensing deals, and built out the firm’s strategic consulting arm. She began her career at ClearView Healthcare Partners, advising life sciences clients on market strategies, operations, and product launches.
Kristen graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a BS in Neurobiology from Georgetown University.
Amanda Poole is the Head of Talent Acquisition at Shaper Capital, where she is responsible for building and growing talent functions to attract world-class talent for portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Shaper, Amanda built and led the talent functions at venture studios including High Alpha and DVx, where she built out foundational HR and talent infrastructures and processes and contributed to hiring hundreds of early team members for dozens of portfolio companies. She’s enthusiastic about finding the essential talent to accelerate our portfolio companies’ growth from the earliest stages and cultivating and nurturing a network of elite talent excited about the Shaper portfolio.

James Arra is the Commercial Operating Partner at Shaper Capital, where he helps portfolio companies develop and execute winning commercial strategies.
Previously, James served as President and Chief Commercial Officer at LiveRamp, leading the commercial team that drove revenue growth from $8M to $460M. He is passionate about building scalable, sustainable businesses, leveraging innovative digital technologies, and mentoring future leaders. His expertise spans enterprise and SMB markets, high-velocity commercial operations, and global business oversight.
James holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego.
Nick Colburn is Shaper Capital’s Chief Financial Officer and acts as fractional CFO to Shaper’s portfolio companies.
Nick previously served as CFO at several early-stage technology companies through rapid growth, multiple fundraises, and three exits. Most recently he was the CFO at Datavant, building and overseeing the finance function from $3 million in ARR through its merger with Ciox Health in a deal valued at $7 billion. Nick has also held senior finance positions at PayPal and Providian.
Nick received three degrees from Stanford University, a BS in Mathematical and Computational Sciences, an MS in Engineering Economic Systems, and an MBA from the Graduate School of Business.
Elyse Jones Benedicto is the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of Shaper, where she builds and scales the operational infrastructure that supports Shaper and our companies.
Prior to Shaper, Elyse held executive roles at category-defining technology companies. As Chief Trust and Safety Officer and Chief Legal Officer at the marketplace Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT), she oversaw operations as the platform scaled to $400 million in sales and led its acquisition by IXL Learning in 2023. Before that, Elyse was VP of Legal at Zocdoc during a period of rapid growth and a $2 billion valuation, and Head of Business Development and General Counsel at MealPal, where she guided the company through global expansion and its Series B funding.
Elyse began her legal career at Davis Polk & Wardwell and as a clerk for the Honorable Rosemary S. Pooler on the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. She holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and a B.A. from Columbia University with degrees in Economics and Philosophy.
Travis May is the Founder and CEO of Shaper Capital, a company dedicated to building businesses that solve data fragmentation across industries.
Travis has a proven track record as a serial entrepreneur, having previously led the two biggest data exits of the last 20 years as co-founder and CEO of both LiveRamp and Datavant. LiveRamp, which pioneered data onboarding, is now a publicly traded company (NYSE:RAMP); he scaled it to over $200 mm in revenue. Travis then founded Datavant, which became the leading platform for healthcare data interoperability. Under his leadership, Datavant merged with Ciox Health in a $7 billion transaction, creating the largest health data ecosystem in the United States.
Travis graduated with magna cum laude and phi beta kappa honors from Harvard University with degrees in economics and mathematics. He has been recognized by Forbes’ “30 Under 30” list and AdAge’s “40 Under 40” for his impact in technology and business.
